On a full sarat Poornima (new moon) winter night, the Lord decided to test out the divine love that Radhikaa and the Gopis had for Him. He stepped into the forest of Nidhivan by the banks of Yamuna and played his flute. As the music played in the ears of the Gopis, they stepped inside the forest searching for the Lord to make Him their own. Hence commenced, Maharaas.
